中山陵 Zhongshan Ling (Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum)

Zhongshan Ling is Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum. It was built on the mountain with staircases from South to North. Along the way, there are memorial archway (Fraternity Archway), tomb avenue, tomb entrance tower, tablet pavilion, memorial hall and the coffin chamber. To arrive at the top of Zhongshan Ling, which is the memorial hall, visitors ought to ascend through a long way of steps where there are platforms along the way to catch breaths. The memorial hall is a palace-like building with three arches inscribed with “Nationalism”, “Democracy” and “People’s Livelihood” which is known as the ideology of Three Principles of the People by Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

明孝陵 Mingxiao Ling; Xiaoling Tomb of the Ming Dynasty (Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties)

Mingxiao Ling was built since 1381 and completed after 25 years. It is the imperial tombs for Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang (the founding emperor of Ming Dynasty) and Empress Ma (Emperor Zhu’s wife). It represents the highest achievements of the early Ming Dynasty in the architectural field and the art of stone carving. The mausoleum consists of two sections: the gateway and the site of graveyard. In 2003, Mingxiao Ling was adopted as the World’s Cultural Heritage.

台城 Taicheng (Tai City Wall)

There are different city walls in Nanjing which most of them were built in Ming Dynasty. Taicheng is known as the essence of all Nanjing ancient city walls. Visitors may walk on the city wall to enjoy the view of beautiful Xuanwu Lake on one side and the Nanjing cityscapes on the other side. On top of that, the Jiming Temple and Zijin Mountain are also visible from the city wall.

南京博物院 Nanjing Museum

Nanjing Museum is one of the three biggest museums in China. It is the oldest museum which consists of Historical hall, Art hall, Special Exhibition Hall, Digital Hall, Republic of China Hall and Cultural Heritage Hall.
